JD (U) indirectly attacks Mamata's demonetisation stand

The Janata Dal (United) (JDU) launched a veiled attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's stand on demonetisation by calling for action against the black money collected from the series of chit fund scams launched in the state.

JD (U) leader Ranjiv Ranjan told ANI here, that the party supports the decision of demonetisation by Central government although the process of implementation needs to garner pace.

"In West Bengal, all the chit fund businesses consist of stacked black money and our party believes that wherever there is any untaxed money then that should be attacked," he said.

JD (U) has earlier backed the Centre over the demonetisation decision taken by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"If Central government has taken a courageous step then there should be a debate on the drawbacks of the demonetisation but it should be implemented properly on ground level as well," he added.

Ranjan expressed that political parties have different stands on the issue of note ban.

"Centre needs to fasten the implementation process just to avoid any inconveniences which people of the nation are facing currently," JD-U leader said.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief also branded the present regime as a 'Daku government', further alleging that the Centre is looting the country.

"Modi government has become 'Daku government', just want to say that Modi ji is looting people's money," she said.
