Jennifer Lawrence is set to star in a remake of the James Dean film 'East of Eden,' it has been revealed.
The new film will reunite the Academy award winning actress with director, Gary Ross, with whom she worked on 'The Hunger Games,' the BBC reported.
The story, which is based on John Steinbeck's classic novel, revolves around rival brothers who compete for their father's attention on a Californian farm.
Lawrence is set to play the estranged mother of the brothers.
In Elia Kazan's 1955 film version of the book, the role of the mother was played by Jo Van Fleet, who won a best supporting actress Academy Award for her performance.
