JJ Abrams has revealed that although his next film 'Star Wars Episode VII' is proceeding in full steam, he's fallen out of love with IMAX and will shoot the new movie on film.

During a press conference at the Television Critics Association, the Star Wars and Star Trek director revealed that he's finished the script for Episode VII, which is in "deep pre-production," confirming that cinematographer Dan Mindel's plans to shoot it on film rather than on digital cameras, CNet reported.

Abrams, who described IMAX as his favorite format in 2011, complained that the problem with IMAX is it's a very loud camera, it's a very unreliable camera, there's only so much film that can be in the camera.

He said one can't really do intimate scenes with it, as it's slow and they break down often.
