The Congress Party on Friday said the judiciary's decision of suspending Bollywood actor Salman Khan's five-year jail sentence in the hit-and-run case cannot be questioned.
Congress MP Renuka Chaudhary said that the actor's fans would be delighted with the court's decision.
"This is what the judiciary has decided, so we cannot comment on what the judiciary has decided. I am sure Salman Khan's fans are going to be delighted, but at some point, I think, some accountability will be held," Chaudhary said.
Meanwhile, earlier today, there was a protest in Ludhiana over the Dabangg superstar getting bail.
Earlier in the day, the Bombay High Court has suspended Salman's five year sentence in the case. With this ruling, the Dabagg star will not be taken to jail. However, he will first have to go to the Sessions
Court in order to execute a fresh bail bond because his two-day interim bail ends today.
On Wednesday, a Mumbai Sessions Court found Salman guilty of culpable homicide and sentenced him to five years imprisonment in connection with the 2002 hit-and-run case, where he ran over a homeless person and injured four others.
However, the Bombay High Court granted him a two-day interim bail for the same.
