A man from Kashmir has laid claim to the World's oldest person's title, saying that he is 141-year-old.
According to reports, Feroz-ud-Din Mir, who lives in the mountains of north Kashmir's Uri district, has a government-issued birth certificate, which shows that he took birth on March 10, 1872, the Mirror reported.
He has outlived his four wives, and if his birth date proves to be correct, it is going to make his current wife, Misra, more than 60 years his junior.
If genuine, the former fruit and nut trader is then about 27 years older than Japanese woman Misao Okawa who, at 115, has been listed by Guinness World Records as the oldest person in the world.
Despite his claimed age, Feroz is still capable of walking, but talks in a broken voice.
Although his eyesight has faded, he is still able to recognise members of his family.
Guinness World Records are believed to be looking into the claims of his great age.
