Kevin Spacey's collapsed 'House Of Cards'

Netflix's acclaimed Kevin Spacey-starring political drama's next season is going to be its last.

A day after 'Rent' star Anthony Rapp revealed a 1986 incident wherein Spacey made unwanted sexual advances on the then-14-year-old actor, the streaming service announced its decision to pull the plug on 'House of Cards' after the upcoming sixth season in 2018, the Deadline reported.

A source revealed that the official decision was made on Monday. Though Netflix and producers Media Rights Capital were leaning towards ending the show a while ago, the key cast and creatives were only alerted earlier in the day in a series of calls.

In a joint statement, the companies said that they were "deeply troubled" by the news concerning the 58-year-old actor.

"In response to last night's revelations, executives from both of our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported. As previously scheduled, Kevin Spacey is not working on set at this time," it further read.

It is being reported that Netflix's Spacey-starrer 'Gore,' a film about the acerbic author Gore Vidal, may be on the chopping block now too.

According to Rapp, then-26-year-old Spacey invited him to a party at his home in New York. He was the only teenager in attendance, and went to watch television after becoming bored. Rapp claimed that Spacey found him and drunkenly put the teen on a bed to "seduce" him.

Later, Spacey responded by apologising for the "inappropriate drunken behaviour" and coming out as gay.

The 13-episode Season 6 of 'House of Cards' is expected to debut in mid-2018 on Netflix.
