Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, the advisor to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, has said that the province is still considering tabling the Women Protection Bill which was rejected by the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII).
Addressing a press conference here, he said the government is re-drafting the Women Protection Bill, making it conform to the tenets of Islam.
"The bill [Women Protection Bill] is still under consideration and the provincial government is committed to table it in the assembly," the Express Tribune quoted Ghani as saying.
He added that the Pakistan Tehrek-i-Insaf Government had carried out more than 100 legislations after it was voted into power in the province.
The Women Protection Bill in Pakistan has been in discussion after deaths of women in the name of honour killing surged recently.
