'Riverdale' star KJ Apa remembered his on-screen father, late Luke Perry on 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon' on Friday.

Apa played the role of Archie Andrews in the TV Series with late Perry essaying Fred Andrews, his father's role.

"It's not every day you come across a guy like Luke," Apa said, according to US Magazine.

Apa recalled how Luke was always welcoming and generous.

"Luke is the kind of person who did everything he can to make whoever you are, no matter how big or small you are, feel comfortable and feel welcome. It's hard to kind of put into words how that makes me feel," she added.

KJ also highlighted that Luke wasn't only a father onscreen but he carried his character even off the screen. "He would call my parents every week and keep them updated on how I'm doing," he said.

"If I had a cold or something he'd be like, 'I got him, I brought some Gatorade to his apartment the other day. He and my dad were always texting each other and stuff," added Apa.

The iconic actor Luke Perry rested in peace after a major stroke in March.

Apa also expressed, "He made such a huge effort from the very beginning," Apa said. "I wish I could be like that."

Luke Perry, popularly known for his roles in 'Beverly Hills 90210' and 'Riverdale', will last be seen in Tarantino's 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Al Pacino.

The film will hit the screens on July 26 this year.
