Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has said that Premier League winners and their arch-rivals Manchester United will be the favourites to land the league crown once again.
However, the Daily Star reports that Sir Alex Ferguson's former side has failed to sign a single player this summer following his retirement and have a tough start to the new campaign, with the pressure being on new boss David Moyes since he took over the reigns from his fellow Scot.
However, Kompany said that United would again be the favourites this season as they won last season, after which City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are lined up, although he added that United would still be City's main Premier League rivals.
But, the report said that under new boss Manuel Pellegrini, City has splashed out almost 100 million pounds on Fernandino, Alvaro Negredo, Jesus Navas and Stevan Jovetic in an attempt to reclaim the Premier League title.
Pellegrini replaced Roberto Mancini after he was sacked at the end of last season for not winning a trophy, although Kompany admits the players were to blame, not the boss.
