Lalu discharged from Mumbai hospital after heart surgery

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief lalu Prasad Yadav was today discharged from Asian Heart Hospital in Mumbai after undergoing two major heart surgeries last month.

The surgeries were performed to replace an aortic valve and to repair the aorta.

The 67-year-old former Bihar chief minister was hospitalized on August 25; the day bye-election results were being counted in Bihar and three other states.

The RJD-Janata Dal (United)-Congress combine won six of the 10 seats in the state's by-elections.
