Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday slammed Lalu Prasad Yadav for his recent remarks on beef, saying that the RJD supremo was raising unnecessary issues to divert people's attention from his failures in the state.
"I want to tell Lalu ji that unnecessary events should not be raised to divert people's attention from the Bihar elections. If you have to talk, then you should discuss development and progress," Rajnath told ANI.
The Home Minister asserted that Lalu and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should talk about what they did during their regimes and not raise issues to cover their failures.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched a blistering attack on Lalu, saying that his 'Hindus eat beef' remark was an 'abuse' and a 'huge insult' to Yaduvanshis (Yadav clan) and asked people of Bihar to reject the grand alliance saying it will bring jungle raj 2 to the state.
