The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has begun finalizing its strategy for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, on Friday alleged that the legacy of Congress-led UPA Government is insecure and suffering India.
BJP chief spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad, who was talking to media here after the first meeting of chargesheet committee constituted by party chief Rajnath Singh, said a decision has been taken to frame a chargesheet against the gross misrule and mismanagement of economy by the UPA Government
Prasad said that the chargesheet would also cover issues of unemployment, poverty, farmers, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribe and women in addition to the issue of foreign policy and strategic security as to how institutions have decayed under the UPA.
"There have been serious violations of federal principles. Therefore, in totality the legacy of Congress-led UPA is insecure India and suffering India. This shall be the main focus, but we would like to have a dialogue with the people of India, including crowd sourcing on social media," Prasad said.
"Therefore, on the BJP website we will have a separate file where we will elicit suggestions from the people of the country and we shall also be visiting the various parts of the country to meet various association groups to know their concerns," he added.
The BJP's chargesheet committee meeting took place a day after leaders of the saffron outfit and the RSS discussed coordination between Sangh Parivar outfits and likely poll issues in a bid to increase synergies ahead of the next general elections.
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who has been appointed as the BJP's campaign committee chief for the 2014 polls, outlined the importance of reaching out to all saffron sympathisers.
Modi stressed short time lines ahead of the Lok Sabha election and told the meeting about the importance of social media and all manner of interest groups that can be aligned with BJP and can be tapped for their unhappiness with the UPA Government at the Centre.
The discussions yesterday focused on maximizing the gains of involving all Sangh organizations like VHP and Bajrang Dal that have sometimes been not just adrift but at loggerheads with BJP. The intent was to ensure a high degree of coordination and reduction of personality clashes with the saffron family.
