Robert Lewandowski continued his scoring prowess with his second hat-trick of the week as Bayern Munich thrashed Werder Bremen 6-0 in the Bundeliga opener at the Allianz Arena, Germany.
Xabi Alonso put the reigning champions ahead with a looping volley before Lewandowski joined the act by scoring in either half, the Mirror reported.
Philipp Lahm then gave Bayern a 4-0 advantage in the 66th minute before Franck Ribery smashed home from the penalty spot seven minutes later.
Polish international Lewandowski, who had netted a hat trick during the 5-0 DFB-Pokal win over Carl Zeiss Jena earlier this week, subsequently completed his second treble by smashing home a penalty.
