The author of the legendary Harry Potter series JK Rowling has flatly refused to accept the comparison between US presidential candidate Donald Trump and Lord Voldemort- the supervillain in her seven-part book series.
"How horrible. Voldemort was nowhere near as bad," Rowling tweeted in response to a BBC report on the number of tweets comparing Trump with 'he who must not be named'.
Trump's comments demanding 'total and complete shutdown' of US borders to Muslims provoked a resounding backlash, but according to the Guardian, Rowling's tweet was met with glee.
Harry Potter fans jumped to defend Voldemort on social media and compared Trump to Dolores Umbridge instead, the horrible, pink loving Defence against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts and also the Undersecretary to the Minister for Magic, with a penchant for torturing children.
