Lt. Gen.A. Chakravarty takes over as NCC chief

Lt. Gen. Aniruddha Chakravarty has assumed charge as Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC).

An alumnus of National Defence Academy, Pune, Lt. Gen. Aniruddha Chakravarty was commissioned in the Rajput Regiment of the Indian Army on December 15, 1976 and has had a distinguished career in the armed forces.

A graduate of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, Lt. Gen. Aniruddha Chakravarty has done all important courses, including the prestigious NDC course at New Delhi.

He has also been the Chief Operations Officer and the National Senior at UNIFIL, Lebanon.

He succeeds Lt. Gen. P.S. Bhalla, who retired on Nov.30.
