An 69-year-old man from China miraculously survived after apparently hammering three 10cm (4in) nails into his own head.
An X-ray revealed that the nails had been hammered through the man's skull and into his brain however, he made a full recovery following a surgery, Metro.co.uk reported.
The unnamed person was recently discharged after spending three months in a hospital in Haifeng County, Fujian province in China.
The man insisted that he had hammered nails into his own head and that hospital staff should not call police, however, the hospital staff thought that someone else was the perpetrator.
No one has been arrested in connection with the incident yet.
