Mark Rylance has been roped in to play the lead role in Steven Spielberg's 'The BFG' which is adapted from Roald Dahl's children's book about a "Big Friendly Giant".
Spielberg said that he was "honored" that Rylance had accepted the title role in 'The BFG', the BBC reported.
The director said that he was "excited and thrilled' that the transformational actor will be making this journey with them to Giant Country.
Rylance, the winner of three Tony Awards and two Oliviers, is known for his association with Shakespeare's Globe in London and for playing Johnny "Rooster" Byron in stage hit Jerusalem.
The film will be released in July 2016 which will coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Dahl's birth.
