Clearing the air, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Friday said her party will not support a Narendra Modi-led government at the centre.
"Modi, in his latest interview, has said that he would seek the support of Mayawati, Jayalalithaa and Mamta Banerjee, if he does not get a majority to form a government. I don't know about the TMC and the AIADMK, but as far as the BSP is concerned, we will not support Modi," Mayawati told media.
She alleged that the BJP is creating a false impression that there is a Modi wave in the country. She said the BJP is desperate to win and is thus making false claims.
"Even before elections started, Modi was claiming that the NDA will get a majority and will not require any support from any other party. No party talks about taking support of any other party unless it is unsure of its victory.
She said that Modi's interview is a tactic of the BJP to create confusion in the minds of the BSP's Muslim votebank.
Attacking the NDA, Mayawati said, "The previous NDA government had slapped disproportionate assets case against me and got the CBI to investigate it. They also tried to damage the BSP movement.
