Hurriyat Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Sunday said that the meeting with the Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz, is aimed to discuss his government's view in addressing the ongoing ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC), and restore peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

He also said that his party has always wanted a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue, and added

"We would be interested in hearing that what kind of process to initiate, and ideas they will apply to restore peace in the region. Hurriyat Conference has always maintained that we want a peaceful solution to the Kashmir problem. We want that India and Pakistan should corporate, and they have to take along the leadership of Kashmir with them," he said.

He further said that Hurriyat's main focus would be on Kashmir, and added that there is a need for cooperation, and not confrontation.

"We are hoping not only to hear from the new government in Pakistan how do they want to address it, but also share some of our experiences over some months. We want ceasefire to be restored," he said.

"We want neither an Indian nor a Pakistani soldier to be killed. A process of trust building should be reinitiated. We don't want death and destruction. We want cooperation rather than confrontation. Hurriyat Conference wants to contribute to the solution," he added.

Separatist leaders are likely to meet Sartaj Aziz today, on the invitation of the Pakistan High Commission here.

Aziz is travelling to India to attend ASEM Foreign Ministers meet on November 11 and November 12.
