Melanie Brown has signed a 1-million-pound contract to become the final judge on this year's 'The X Factor'.
A source from the show said that the 39-year-old singer was Simon Cowell's first choice for the final place on the panel, and based on his meeting with her, he became sure that Brown will be able to stir things and be up for a laugh which is important, the Mirror reported.
The source also said that Cowell had even consulted Cheryl Cole, who was offered 1.5 million dollars to be on the panel, if the former Spice Girls member was a good choice, to which she had given a nod.
