Mercedes has reportedly said that they will have to consider dropping either Lewis Hamilton or Nico Rosberg if the duo cannot race in "cleanly."

The decision came in the aftermath of the collision between Hamilton and Rosberg in Belgium on August 24, reported the BBC.

Ahead of this weekend's Italian Grand Prix, the team has said that there will be no more on-track contact between the two.

Mercedes has reportedly taken disciplinary action against Rosberg for the collision at Spa. The German racer has also taken full responsibility for it and has apologized.

Mercedes sports boss Toto Wolff said that the act was just not acceptable for them and also for both the team members. He added that the team doesn't want this to happen ever again.

The hit had punctured Hamilton's car, forcing him to retire while Rosberg took a 29-point advantage over his team-mate in the race.
