Militants killed two persons, including a border guard in Tripura.
The incident took place when Border Security Force (BSF) personnel went to fetch water in a civilian water tanker of the Coastal Construction Company to a nearby area.
"They had gone near the water tanker to take water. They were returning after taking water. We reached the spot after the firing took place and they had been shot. A BSF person and civilian were killed," said an eyewitness, Ram Saurat, in regional capital, Agartala.
The BSF soldier was accompanied by two other civilians, including the driver of the water tanker. A group of militants ambushed the vehicle.
The injured were airlifted to a hospital in Agartala, where the BSF soldier and one civilian were declared brought dead while the condition of another civilian is stated to be serious.
