Minor girl found hanging from tree in Moradabad

A 16-year-old girl was found hanging from a tree in Rajupur Milak village in Moradabad District this morning. This is the third such incident after the Badaun rape case, where two teenage Dalit girls were found hanging from a tree.

The girl's family has alleged that she was raped and murdered after being reported missing the previous evening.

Earlier, a woman was reportedly gangraped in Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur by the Sub-inspector inside the police station.

The victim said that she was threatened that a false case would be lodged against her when she didn't pay a bribe and was later raped by Sub-inspector Rahul Pandey, who has been arrested.

Opposition leaders, meanwhile, are demanding the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's resignation over his failure to curb the rising crime graph. Yadav is currently in Delhi to attend an investors' conclave.

BJP's Sidharth Nath Singh said, "Rape incidents will not stop as there is no policing in UP. Only one caste is ruling there. In UP, its completely Gundaraj and Akhilesh should step down."

Another BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, too, described the situation in UP as Jungle Raaj.

"The state of the UP government is getting worse. They are not able to control crime in UP. There is jungle-raj in UP.
