Pakistan Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq displayed a brilliant performance to help his side build a sizeable 358-run lead at the draw of stumps on the third day of the second match against England here on Saturday.
Misbah smashed eight boundaries and four sixes in his unbeaten knock of 87 and will be accompanied by Younis Khan (71 not out) when they resume their innings tomorrow at 222-3.
Besides, Mohammad Hafeez also scored half century to accelerate the innings.
For England, Mark Wood and James Anderson shared three wickets among themselves.
Earlier, resuming at an overnight score of 182 for three, England were bundled out for 242 in their first innings, thanks to Root (88) and skipper Alastair Cook (65).
The first Test ended in a draw in Abu Dhabi last week, and the third will be played in Sharjah from November 1.
