The Director of the Uttarakhand Meteorological Center, Anand Sharma, said that moderate rain of about 10-30 mm can be expected today in Uttarakhand.
He said in Kumaon and Nainital regions could expect rainfall of 20-40mm today.
"Then on July 5, we are expecting increase in rainfall and presently we are keeping rainfall in the range of 20-40mm, especially in South Uttarakhand and on July 6 we are keeping 60-65mm rainfall," said Sharma.
"There is a low-pressure area along with a cyclonic circulation over southeast UP but if it moves in a westerly direction, then definitely the intensive rainfall as indicated earlier will reduce," Sharma said
Nearly two weeks after flash floods and landslides created havoc and caused widespread destruction in Uttarakhand, the MET department has warned that heavy rains are likely to hit the state towards the end of this week.
