Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Sunday described the Congress-led UPA government as 'remote controlled' and said the country needed a strong and stable government in the centre.
"I ask you all about the type of government you want in India? Do you want a government in Delhi, a lame duck government? Do you want a dumb government? Do you want remote-controlled government? Do you want a government which is lying dead in a hospital?" Modi asked while addressing a rally here today.
"It is the need of the hour that we need a strong government in Delhi. If we have a strong government at the Centre we will have a strong determination. If there is strong government, then we will take strong steps. If we take strong steps, then the country also will become strong," Modi added.
Modi asserted that the Government in Delhi has the responsibility to give account of its work, but they have not given it.
"But have they given an account of their work? In 2009, for the development of this region, they had made some promises but haven't fulfilled them yet. And if they haven't fulfilled their promises as yet, then what is the need to vote them back to power. Now, they should be stopped here only," he said.
He said during these elections there will many states where the Congress will not be able to open their account.
"There will be a number of states where the Congress party will not even reach double digit. This time Congress ruled states will end up in single digit," he added.
