Expressing confidence on Jose Mourinho's ability, Manchester United assistant Rui Faria has insisted the manager and his coaching staff are capable of bringing back the glory days at the Old Trafford.

Earlier, Faria was forced to run the line at the Old Trafford after Mourinho was sent to the stands for kicking a water bottle on the touchline, a reaction which came after midfielder Paul Pogba was booked for diving shortly during a 1-1 draw against West Ham in the Premier League.

The result has left United placed sixth in the standings, 11-point behind leaders Chelsea. However, Faria remains confident that the Portuguese manager could turn the things around for the club.

"We are looking to the team and trying to get the best results. We knew the job was not an easy job and we fight to change the things and it's what we'll keep doing," Sport24 quoted Faria as saying.

It was for the first time since February 1990 that United have failed to clinch victory in four league games in a row at Old Trafford.

"We believe in the players, we believe in the team and we believe things will change. And what we are chasing will arrive for sure," Faria said while expressing confidence on his team-mates.

United will aim to take revenge of the draw when they welcome West Ham United back to Old Trafford in the League Cup quarter-finals on December 1.
