Ace filmmaker Mrinal Sen's family has rubbished the news doing the rounds on his demise and said that he is absolutely fine.

"News on Mrinal Sen's passing away is false. He is absolutely fine and having tea right now," Sen's family informed ANI.

His cinema is known for its artistic depiction of social reality.

Some of Sen's mentionable films are 'Bhuvan Shome,' 'Mrigaya,' 'Akaler Sandhane,' 'Calcutta 71,' 'Akash Kusum,' and 'Punascha' besides others.
