Mulayam Singh Yadav agrees to be in grand alliance, discloses Sharad Yadav

Janata Dal (United) Chief Sharad Yadav on Thursday said that no changes would be made in the grand alliance of all the seven parties and the 'Mahagathbandhan' would remain the same.

"Gathbandhan jaisa tha waisa hi rahega. (The alliance would remain the same as it was)," Sharad Yadav told the media after his one hour long meet with Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.

"We will talk about the issue of seat sharing later. Grand alliance will remain as it was before today," he added.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav had on Saturday announced five seats for the Samajwadi Party in the grand alliance for the Bihar assembly polls.

Earlier in the day, Samajwadi Party leader Gaurav Bhatia had said the seat sharing issue was the prime reason for his party to quit the Janata Pariwar ahead of the polls.

"It is very unfortunate that the larger parties which were part of the Janata Pariwar, namely the Janata Dal United (JD-U) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) didn't even consult the national leaders of the Samajwadi Party, and there was no deliberation regarding seat sharing between these parties." Bhatia said.
