Briton number one Andy Murray was given the finger by Tommy Robredo after the world number 10 saved five match points to beat the Spaniard and clinch the Valencia Open title.

In a battle of tennis superstars, Murray saved five match points before fighting back to beat Robredo, world number 16, in a in a tense third-set tiebreaker 3-6, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (8).

It's the second time in less than a month that the Scot saved five match points against Robredo, who he again beat in the final of the Shenzhen Open on September 28, News.com.au reported.

After Robredo lost the Valencia Open final he gave the finger to Murray as this time the Spaniard had to endure losing a second final to the Scot in front of his home fans in Valencia.

Robredo came from a break down in the second set to force a tiebreaker that could have earned him his first win against Murray since 2007.

Murray looked flustered, twice slamming down his racket, but he managed to save both match points in the tiebreaker before levelling at a set each.

The Briton then saved three more match points in the final tiebreaker before hitting a decisive backhand to win in 3 hours, 20 minutes. It was Murray's 31st career title and second in Valencia after winning in 2009, the report added.
