Defending Champion Andy Murray will play in the US Open as the third seed after his ranking dropped, while World No.1 Novak Djokovic has been named the No.1 seed.
According to the Mirror, Murray's win at Flushing Meadows 12 months ago marked the start of a run that saw him win Olympic gold, reach the Australian Open final and claim a Wimbledon crown.
Surprisingly, seven-time Wimbledon Champion Roger Federer has been named the no.7 seed after he dropped in the rankings recently.
French Open champion Rafael Nadal will play as the second seed while his compatriot David Ferrer will play as the fourth seed.
