Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda lauded doctors for checking 1 crore pregnant women for free under Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA).
Nadda yesterday took to Twitter saying, "one crore Antenatal Checkups (ANCs) were conducted under Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA). I express my heartfelt gratitude to all the doctors who have made this remarkable milestone possible. They heeded to clarion call of Honorable Prime Minister @narendramodi ji for sparing one day each month for this noble cause. #SwasthaBharat" (sic)
The PMSMA, launched on June 9, 2016, has been initiated with the objective of boosting the health care facilities for the pregnant women, especially the poor.
Under the scheme, the pregnant ladies are given free health check-up and treatment on ninth of every month. The pregnant women can avail this scheme in all government hospitals across the country.
