Aasaanjobs, the leading recruitment portal for entry-level and blue collar jobs was the recruitment partner for the well-attended job fair 'Navi Disha- Ujjwal Bhaivshyachi' a business, self-employment and jobs fair targeting youth and women. It was an initiative of MIDC in association with the local Gram Panchayat and was held in Talegaon, Pune District of Maharashtra on April 3.
It was aimed at streamlining the flow of information in the job market of the region and at catalyzing employment.
The event, with a footfall of over 1500, received a tremendous response from all stakeholders. It was inaugurated by famous actor Manoj Joshi (of Chanakya fame) and Manohar Surdas, Public Relations Officer, MIDC along with Dattatrey Padwal, Village sarpanch.
Several top companies were present at the fair as recruiters including Burger King, Mahindra Finance, Faasos, Uber, Axis Bank, Syndicate Bank, Opinio, Save the Children, Labour Net, Bank of Maharashtra and Mahindra Logistics amongst others. Four training agencies, Aspire Knowledge and Skills, I Create India, Swayam Shikshan Prayog and Don Bosco Training were also present at the job fair.
Aasaanjobs registered over 400 potential candidates across job roles such as welding, sales, operations and logistics at the fair held in Navlakh Umbre ZP School, Navlakh Umbre in Talegaon, Maharashtra.
Speaking on its role in the job fair, Aasaanjobs Co-Founder, Kunal Jadhav said, "We are all collectively pleased at the response that 'Navi Disha' has received. It was conceptualized with a single-minded vision to eliminate the dearth of information that exists in the employment scenario of the industrial region of Talegaon."
"The fair sought to alleviate the barriers of infrastructure, knowledge and technology that act as roadblocks to the residents of the area in finding meaningful employment," added Kunal.
He added that by registering 400 candidates, we have inched much closer to the overall vision of connecting recruiters with potential employees. Through the fair, good candidates have received well-deserved exposure to large companies.
"We were very happy to know that the candidates were well-versed with apps and their usage and were quickly able to understand that a Job search is available to be downloaded from Google Play. It gives us confidence in using technology to solve the recruitment problem pan-India," he added.
Manohar Surdas, Public Relations Officer, MIDC said, "MIDC's vision is to enable the youth of the region to give skills as times change and the dynamics of the job market evolve with technology. Through this job fair, we wanted to help them navigate their way into the future and find employment that fulfils their financial, emotional and mental needs."
"Navi Disha is a one-of-its kind project in the country and we are proud to have pioneered it in Talegaon. It is also a manifestation of our commitment to go the extra mile in helping the residents of Talegaon in every possible way to ensure a collectively brighter tomorrow," added Manohar.
At the job fair, residents of Talegaon gained insights into how creating their profiles on Aasaanjobs is not just extremely easy but also highly effective. Aasaanjobs offers multi-lingual platforms where candidates can sign up. Its services are available as an app on Android devices which are hugely popular in the region. Candidates still using feature phones can also use its WAP website for easy accessibility.
Job seekers were also given tips for interviews and other steps in the hiring process so that they could accelerate the pace of their career growth.
