Former Prime Minister and Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has clarified that his party is against the proposed Constitution Amendment Bill put forth by the ruling parties as it was brought without consultation with the opposition

"The constitution amendment proposal brought without consultation with the opposition was unacceptable," The Himalayan Times quoted Oli as saying to mediapersons at Biratnagar airport on Saturday.

According to the report, Oli urged the the ruling parties to withdraw the proposal and deliberate on issues related to statute amendment before presenting it in the Parliament.

He said it won't be possible to amend the statute within this month as claimed by the ruling parties.

Reacting to CPN-UML's dismal performance and the Nepali Congress' (NC's) success in the second phase of civic polls in Morang district, Oli said his party failed to to make people understand well, adding that they lacked proper outreach amongst the people.

Oli said the civic polls in Province 2 were postponed as the ruling parties believe that they might lose the elections.

He also claimed that his party would win be winning more than 50 per cent of local levels in Province 2 in the third phase of local level elections.
