Two persons have been detained by police in Nepal on alleged charges of raping an American women.
According to reports, the incident took place in a hotel in Kathmandu.
Police are investigating the incident that reportedly took place on June 14 in the Thamel district of the capital.
U.S. Embassy spokesman Robert Domaingue was quoted, as saying that privacy laws prevented the embassy from commenting on individual cases.
If convicted of gang rape, the men could be jailed for up to ten years.
