The new James Bond novel, 'Solo,' which has been written by author William Boyd, has 1960s setting.
Boyd said that the new novel that has been adorned with a dust cover, which has been pierced through with six 'bullet holes' is the culmination of a lifelong passion for the original James Bond books, penned by Ian Fleming, the New York Post reported.
To pen the latest Bond novel, Boyd re-read all Bond books by Fleming, "in chronological order, pen in hand, taking notes."
The new novel portrays 007 as a veteran agent, who has been sent to single-handedly stop a civil war in the fictional West African nation of Zanzarim in 1969.
