The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has demanded a factual report from the Defence Ministry regarding the Shopian attack on Friday.
This comes following a plea, filed by three Army kids, seeking a response from the authority regarding the January 27 incident of firing, stone pelting and physical assault at Shopian.
The NHRC wanted to know the current situation of the place and also the steps taken by the Central government in this regard.
The complainants have condemned the government's action of withdrawing the FIR against those accused of stone- pelting in Kashmir.
The complainants had requested the intervention of NHRC in the incident while highlighting the frequent instances of violation of human rights of the army personnel in particular at the insurgency areas in Jammu and Kashmir.
