The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a close aide of Sheikh Rehmatullah alias Sajjid, a suspect of Burdwan blast in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal.
According to reports, Mufazzil Haque was nabbed from the Mokimnagar area of the district bordering Bangladesh on Tuesday night.
Sheikh Rehmatullah alias Sajjid was allegedly running a recruitment camp for terror outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from a madrassa in Murshidabad.
Two members of the JMB were killed in an explosion while building homemade bombs in Burdwan in West Bengal in October last year.
Last week, the NIA had sent five suspects to police custody after arresting them in connection with the blast.
The Police in December had also arrested a key suspect in the blast who they believed was linked to a plot to assassinate Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and stage a coup there.
