The Director General of National Investigation Agency (NIA), Sharad Kumar, is scheduled to reach Guwahati today to monitor the progress of the investigations into the cases related to the recent Assam massacre.
The NIA is presently investigating four cases registered in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur districts of Assam.
Kumar is expected to meet separately NIA officials and senior officials of the Assam Government including Chief Secretary and the state DGP.
The NIA chief would be visiting the violence-hit Kokrajhar and Sonitpur districts tomorrow.
The police have registered 119 cases following the massacre where 81 persons lost their lives. The security forces have arrested seven Bodo militants involved in the massacre.
