Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that no terrorist acts will be allowed by her government in the name of religion.

Hasina said her government does not want conflicts rather it wants peace, prosperity and development, reports the Dhaka Tribune.

The Prime Minister was addressing the Hindu devotees while on a visit to the Durga Puja Mandop at Dhakeswari National Temple in the city yesterday.

"We want development in such a way that all people irrespective of caste, creed and religion will get the benefit," she said.

"Our government has always taken stern action against terrorism and militancy and will continue to curb the twin demons with an iron hand," Hasina added.

Speaking about the essence of all religions, she said that welfare of human beings is the main theme of all religions.

Later in the day, she visited the Ramkrishna Mission Temple and Math in Dhaka.
