A new high-tech collar attachment will now allow pet owners to monitor their dogs at a distance, checking how much they sleep and calories they burn how many calories they are burning.
Mobile phone operator NTT Docomo said that the new gadget would give smartphone users peace of mind about their pet's health and whereabouts at all times, News 24 reported.
The 'Petfit' tag, which will be priced at 253 and will soon hit Japanese market, has satellite positioning system and sends information to a designated mobile phone on whether a dog is sleeping, walking or running.
The dog collar will also monitor how many steps a hound has taken, what the ambient temperature is and if it's getting enough time to sleep.
