The Supreme Court, on Tuesday, will hear the plea seeking investigation into the alleged multi-crore National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam in Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier on February 17, the top court issued notice to the Uttar Pradesh Government and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the case related to the NRHM scam against Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Babu Singh Kushwaha.

The apex court, which also sought a detailed reply from both parties by February 24, had earlier refused to grant interim bail to Kushwaha. The court also asked him to appear after four months.

It was alleged that a huge sum of money was siphoned off by politicians, bureaucrats and doctors from the fund meant for NRHM.

Kushwaha, who was a minister during the BSP rule, was arrested on March 3, 2012, for his alleged involvement in this case.
