What is our world coming to? Blaming animated creatures for the bombings! Recently, an Egyptian government official has accused the 'Tom and Jerry' series of spreading a culture of violence.

The accusations that were put by Salah Abdel-Sadek, head of State Information Service that is affiliated with the presidency, came at a forum held in Cairo, reportsNews.com.au.

While addressing the academics, media specialists and public figures, Abdel-Sadek said that the video games and cartoons are to be blamed.

He said children see Tom Cat and Jerry Mouse beat and blow up with explosives one another and in their minds, they see this as normal.

The Mideast country is struggling with a homegrown Islamic insurgency and regularly sees heavy-handed security measures used against protesters.
