Olympian gymnast Louis Smith used wine to sleep after split with partner

Olympic gymnast Louis Smith has revealed that he turned to drinking after a split with long-term partner Billie Whyatt and kept wondering what she was doing in her life.

According to the Daily Star, the Olympian downed wine to help him face daily life after the break-up had left him destroyed and still fears that he would never love again.

The gymnast said that although he was not an alcoholic and had never agreed with the idea of turning to drinks to avoid problems of life, drinking wine helped him go off to sleep.

Louis and Billie started dating shortly after he competed at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, the report said.
