One dead in blast near U.S. embassy in Kabul

At least one person has died in an explosion near the United States Embassy in Kabul on Tuesday morning.

The number of casualties has not been confirmed so far, however, officials confirmed that eight people have been taken to the Wazir Akbar Khan Hospital, Tolo News reported.

The blast occurred outside the Kabul Bank close to the diplomatic quarters and the U.S. embassy.

Some nearby buildings have also suffered substantial damage.

No group has taken the responsibility for the blast so far.
