At least one person was killed and seven others were wounded on Sunday in a shooting at a church service in Antioch, Tennessee.
The shooter, described as a Rutherford County man in his mid 20s, shot himself after he was confronted by an armed member of the congregation, reported the local media quoting the Metro Nashville Police.
The shooter is being treated at the hospital.
The gunman wore a neoprene ski mask when he shot a woman in the parking lot of Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch, a neighbourhood in Davidson County, governed by Nashville.
Earlier, the Nashville Fire Department said, "This is a mass casualty situation,"adding, "All of the wounded have been transported to area hospitals. The majority are older adults."
More details are awaited.
