Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday took another swing at his political opponents likening them to 'terrorists' halting the country's progress.
"The people should think twice about which side they want to be on," Sharif said while speaking at the inauguration of the Sukkur-Multan motorway.
"What do terrorists do? They wish to halt progress in Pakistan," he added.
Referring to the opposition, Sharif asked as to what is the agenda of those who agitate.
"Don't they try to stop progress in Pakistan? Don't they try to disrupt peace? What is the difference between them and terrorists?" he asked.
The Prime Minister thanked China for their investment in Pakistan.
"This assistance would have come earlier if it weren't for the 'dharnas'," he said, referring to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Islamabad sit-in.
A war of words between the opposition leaders and the government has escalated over the past few weeks with the opposition parties holding anti-corruption rallies and calling for the Prime Minister's resignation over allegations of corruption after the Panama Papers revealed Sharif family's offshore holdings.
