U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has expressed optimism on finalizing a deal to stop Iran from its domestic nuclear enrichment programme, but said America was neither "blind" nor "dumb" about Tehran's motives to ease out international sanctions.
Kerry said that the U.S. needed more "clarity" about the terms of the proposed deal and further clarified that this was just a temporary halt to Iran's nuclear programme until a full deal could be reached, Fox News reports.
World powers failed to temporarily control Iran's nuclear programme, after France objected that proposals did not go far enough.
President Hassan Rouhani was quoted as saying that nuclear rights in the international framework, including uranium enrichment, on its soil are not negotiable.
Kerry pointed that the strict sanctions against the nuclear programme won't be eased out and military intervention to stop Iran's effort to build a nuclear weapon was still on the negotiation table, the report added.
