'The Theory of Everything' star Eddie Redmayne is set to voice a character in 'Thomas the Tank Engine.'
The 33-year-old British actor, who was crowned Best Actor for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking at the Oscars, will be heard in the next installment in the Thomas and Friends series, 'Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure,' as the voice of Ryan, a new engine who Thomas meets on a quest, Stuff.co.nz reported.
Redmayne in a statement that he had loved the show as a kid, and had jumped at the opportunity to get involved with the project.
He added that since he had never voiced an animated character before he had a complete blast.
The film would also feature the voices of 'Harry Potter' alums John Hurt as Sailor John, and Jamie Campbell Bower as Skiff.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Thomas the Tank Engine brand, and the 60-minute CGI feature will be released on DVD by HIT Entertainment late in 2015.
