Former England batsman Owais Shah has said that he is "very distressed" after he was implicated in the corruption probe for alleged links to the Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scam.

According to the BBC, Shah, who played six tests and 71 one-day internationals for England, said he was unaware that he was under investigation.

He had no idea about the allegations being leveled against him, said the player who was a part of Rajasthan Royals in the 2013 IPL.

Shah claimed that he would not be making any further statements.

The Supreme Court of India on Friday disclosed the names of a few personalities who were probed by the Justice Mudgal Committee for alleged links to the Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scam.

The names disclosed by the Indian Supreme Court include that of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president N Srinivasan, BCCI chief operating officer (COO) Sunder Raman, Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra and Chennai Super Kings team principal Gurunath Meiyappan.
